Isabelle Stoffel is a Swiss-born actress who works consistently in German- and Spanish-language theater, including at the Spanish National Theatre Centro Dramático Nacional (La rendición, Dir.: Sigfrid Monleón), at the Teatro de la Abadía (Invernadero / The Hothouse by Harold Pinter, Dir.: Mario Gas), at the Stadttheater Bern (Paradise Lost, Dir.: Ramser/Merker), and at the Stadttheater Luzern (The Snow Queen). She was a member of the Berlin theater ensemble Nico and the Navigators.
After numerous directing projects in Switzerland, Isabelle Stoffel was nominated in 2025 for the Spanish theater award Talía for Best Actress for the title role in Witness for the Prosecution (Dir.: Fernando Bernués).
She has a strong presence in Spanish auteur cinema, including four films by Jonás Trueba, such as La virgen de agosto / Eva in August and Los exiliados románticos. She has also worked with directors including Mariano Barroso, Javier Rebollo, Alex de la Iglesia, Carlos Iglesias, Sigfrid Monleón, Sergio Cabrera, María Pérez, Jan-Olé Gerster, and Petra Volpe. At the end of 2025, the feature film Apuntes para una ficción consentida (Dir.: Ana Serret) will premiere with her in the lead role.
On television, she appeared in the ZDF film Verkehrsinsel (Dir.: Eoin Moore), was part of the main cast of the RTL series Hinter Gittern, and appeared in Élite (Netflix/Zeta Ficción), Tatort – Schoggiläbe (SRF/ARD), Die Beschatter (SRF), and 30 Monedas (HBO).
In 2013, she performed the English version, of the monologue The Surrender, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Spanish La rendición version at Teatro Maipo in Buenos Aires, and in subsequent years in Germany and Switzerland in the German version Die Hingabe. In collaboration again with Sigfrid Monleón, she translated, adapted, and directed her monologue En Tierra / Am Boden / Grounded, the award-winning play by George Brant about a drone pilot.
